Greetings! and welcome to NorthShore ArtScene, an online compilation of facts, photos and news about artists on the Lake Superior's North Shore.

The North Shore of Lake Superior is really a hotbed of artists from every medium, and I will be posting stories and notes about them on this blog.

Dan and Lee Ross of Hovland were among the artists who participated in the highly successful Crossing Borders Studio Tour and Sale recently.  Here are photos of Dan Ross loading the kiln to get ready for the show.

Crossing Borders was aptly named — the tour starts just outside of Duluth, MN, and continues along Highway 61 through to Thunder Bay, Ontario, featuring potters, weavers, sculptors and woodcut artists, fiber artists, jewelry makers and more. The 10-day studio tour starts the last weekend of September and finishes up the first weekend of October.
